Linda Trollinger

Constructing, Fragmenting and Re-constructing
Identity: Reclaiming of Native American Heritage

Linda Trollinger is a second year graduate student in the Department of Sociology at Marshall University, with an interest in ethnicity and gender issues. Ms. Trollinger’s project addresses the issue of how trying to re-gain ethnic identity has impacted the lives of several women of Native ancestry from the Appalachian region. She will collect ten oral history interviews from both native women and men, without respect to age or tribal affiliation, as well as interviewing activists and Native leaders.
