University Computing Facilities
University Computing Facilities (UCF) provides technology learning spaces on Marshall University’s Main Huntington Campus. Our facilities provide an assortment of learning spaces that range from general individual-use computer stations to computer lab classrooms.
Our main and largest learning space is Drinko Library, which includes the 24-hour Study Center, two floors of individual-use computing stations, multiple Study, Team, and Collaboration rooms.
UCF maintains two computer lab classrooms: one in Corbly Hall, and one in Smith Hall. Support for these facilities is provided by the Classroom Support staff and can be contacted by calling 304-634-2664.
The Drinko Study Center is located on the north side of the first floor of the Drinko Library. The Study Center contains individual-use Windows computer stations, Study/Team Rooms, and a Pharos Printing Station.

In addition to the Study Center, the first floor houses the remainder of the Drinko Learning Commons area, and Study/Team Rooms. This area includes Mac and Windows computers for general use and areas to study individually or as a group. Also, located on the first floor is one of our training room, DL138. DL138 is a training room with an instructor station that can display from the instructor’s PC, a laptop, or from an overhead projection slide. Drinko’s Second Floor contains individual-use Windows computer stations, Study and Team Rooms, one large Collaboration Room. There is a quiet reading area and a team collaboration area.
Corbly Hall 332 is a computer lab classroom that has Windows computers for students to use and one instructor station. The instructor station can be displayed to a projector from the instructor’s PC or a laptop. The instructor station is also equipped with a touchscreen monitor. This classroom can be reserved for classes but is open for general student, facility and staff use when not reserved.
Smith Hall 532 is a computer lab classroom that has Windows computers for students to use and one instructor station. The instructor station can display to a projector from the instructor’s PC or a laptop. This classroom can be reserved for classes but is open for the general student, facility, and staff use when not reserved.
Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECI)
Technology Enhanced Classrooms are designed to improve student learning outcomes through the promotion and support of modern pedagogies.
Many of these classrooms are part of the program called TECI, which stands for Technology Enhanced Classroom Initiative. The classrooms managed by this program are openly available for scheduling via the Registrar’s office and are not “owned” by any one department. They have a standard set of general features, which include:
- An instructor PC with Microsoft Windows and Office 365 apps (including Teams)
- A webcam and microphone for virtual meetings or distance learning classes
- A digital pen display on the instructor’s lectern for annotation
- A projector or LED display(s) to show PC video
