Marshall Mathematics professor publishes patent for statistical modeling
Dr. Michael Otunuga, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, was awarded a patent “Local lagged Adapted Generalized Method of Moments Dynamic Process”. The patent contains a method for estimating parameters and states of dynamical systems over time. These dynamical systems are used in fields such as biology, chemistry, engineering, finance, and more. The method has potential applications to commodity markets, interest and exchange rates, stock prices, and epidemiological data, among others.
