Emphasis in Mathematical Statistics

The Area of Emphasis in Mathematical Statistics opens a window of job opportunities in the business, government, industry, and health sectors; and provides a sound preparation for further studies in statistics. Students pursuing a major in Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics may also pursue an Area of Emphasis in Mathematical Statistics; additional coursework may be required. The Area of Emphasis in Mathematical Statistics is not intended for students pursuing a major in Mathematical Statistics.
