Marshall University’s College of Education and Professional Development will serve as host to the 57th annual conference of the Southern Regional Council on Educational Administration Friday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Charleston.

The conference is themed “Balanced Leadership: Focus on the Leader’s Wellness.”

Dr. Tom Hisiro, professor of leadership studies at Marshall who is also SRCEA’s interim president and the events coordinator for this conference, said he hopes the event will strengthen the link between Marshall and the Charleston community to help benefit the interests of all.

“The aim is to provide a forum for presentation and discussion of research and ideas among individuals with a professional interest in the field of educational administration and leadership at all levels of the education system,” Hisiro said.

While anyone is welcome to submit a proposal, Hisiro said the committee particularly seeks those for organized sessions, forums and special events, and welcomes papers and round table presentations that show processes of educational and leadership topics at all levels that affect students and educators.

Submission and registration information for the conference can be found at www.marshall.edu/srcea.

The Southern Regional Council on Educational Administration organization members include higher education faculty in educational administration and related fields, community college faculty and administrators, doctoral students in educational administration and leadership, and Pre K-12 practitioners who wish to grow professionally and share research experiences with colleagues. In essence, SRCEA encourages participation by members of all groups as a means of fostering professional growth and establishing collective efforts in the improvement of educational administration and leadership.
