Marshall University President Brad D. Smith formed the Reproductive Health Task Force in October 2022, following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and West Virginia’s resulting law banning abortions, with very limited exceptions.
The task force is charged with assessing how these decisions at the federal and state level affect clinical care, educational instruction and student health at Marshall University.
The group is working to ensure Marshall University is able to provide the legally appropriate resources and support for the campus community in the context of a new and evolving landscape.
