Dear Patrons of the Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center,

On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Department of Communication Disorders and the Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center (MUSHC), we would like to express our sincere gratitude that you have chosen Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center for your communication and swallowing needs. As you know, we are dedicated to excellent, evidence-based service provision as well as student education. As we are a unique outpatient clinic located in a university setting, we must adhere to guidelines set by the administration at Marshall University.

Marshall University’s President, Jerome Gilbert publicized a statement on March 11, 2020 which modified the university calendar.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our clients, families, employees and students. It is because of this, we decided to temporarily close our doors effective March 12, 2020. It is our intention to re-open at the earliest possible date. We will keep you informed as we are provided guidance.

We continue to maintain that family support is essential to achieving outcomes. This is more important now, than ever. The faculty and students will be working to create home programs, as appropriate. They will either be emailed to you or mailed directly to your home. Your faculty supervisor will be in contact with you regarding your preference. Additionally, we will be sending ideas and education via our Facebook page.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pamela J. Holland (304-696-2985), the Program Director, or Sarah Clemins (304-696-3246), the Director of Clinical Education, if you have questions or concerns.

We wish you the best of health and safety now and always.

Sincerely,

The Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center
