International Conversation Partners Program

Marshall’s International Conversation Partner Program is a program that pairs international and domestic participants to improve English language acquisition and build cross-cultural relationships.

Program Details

  • This program is built on a foundation of conversation, cultural exchange, and friendship.
  • The program runs for 10 weeks throughout each semester.
  • Partners will remain with their match throughout the 10 weeks.

Expectations for Participants in the Program

  • Participate in a mandatory Meet & Greet with matched partner and a staff member prior to starting program.
  • Sign a Memorandum of Agreement stating you have received a copy of the guidelines and understand the expectations and rules.
  • Meet or talk at a mutually agreeable time.
  • Understand the purpose of the program, and work to create a mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Respect and keep an open mind towards different cultures, customs, and opinions.
  • Refrain from dating, making sexual or romantic advances, proselytizing, and/or engaging in illegal activities with your partner.
  • Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the program organizers.
  • Respond to a debriefing survey at the completion of the program.
