2006
Challenged, but retained, at the Cherry Hill (NJ) Public Library’s Young Adult section by a parent claiming its “deplorable” content was unfit for young minds.
2004
Pulled from a Baldwin (KS) ninth grade class by the school district superintendent because “it was clear to him it wasn’t fit for his own daughter or granddaughter.” The original complaint objected to fifty passages that contained profanity and sexual content.
2002
Restricted, challenged and banned due to violent content and concerns that it was not appropriate for younger schoolchildren..
2001
Restricted in Arlington (TX) middle and high schools due to violent content. Challenged in Tamaqua (PA) over concerns that it was not appropriate for younger schoolchildren. Banned in Leesburg (FL) for content and language.
