Retained in the Grand Rapids (MI) Advanced Placement English classes despite considerations of returning the 1,846 page anthology to its publisher or clipping out about 70 pages with objectionable material including a drama, “Topdog/Underdog” by Suzan-Lori Parks, that contained profanity and descriptions of sexual activity.
