Banned Books 2016 – The Namesake

Marshall University does not ban books! The information is provided to let people know what has been banned/challenged elsewhere.

2016

Recommended for removal by the ad-hoc literature committee of the Coeur d’Alene (ID) School District because it contains “descriptions of sexual conduct that are too explicit for high school seniors.” The novel examines being caught between two conflicting cultures with highly distinct religious, social, and ideological differences.
