2017

Challenged, but retained in the Cumberland County (TN) School libraries. The novel is about the coming-of-age of the protagonist, Quentin “Q” Jacobsen, and his search for Margo Roth Spiegelman, his neighbor and childhood sweetheart. During his search, Quentin and his friends Ben, Radar, and Lacey discover information about Margo and themselves.

2015

Removed from the eighth-grade reading list at Dr. John Long Middle School in Wesley Chapel (FL) after a parent complained that the book contained F-bombs, several discussions about teen sex, and references to girls as “honey bunnies,” which the parent considered misogynistic.
