Banned Books 2020 – Sex, Puberty, and All That Stuff: A guide to Growing Up

A parent complained that the book was “sexually graphic…explicit…very suggestive and encouraged sexual experimentation.” In accordance with library policy, the director of the Mt. Angel (OR) Public Library met with the patron and addressed the challenge. The book was retained in the junior nonfiction section. The patron chose not to appeal the decision the the library board.

2009

Challenged, but retained in the Windsor (CN) Library for being inappropriate for its descriptions of sexual development. The book was designed for students from grades five through ten.
