Banned Books 2008 – Tripping Over the Lunch Lady and Other Short Stories

Marshall University does not ban books! The information is provided to let people know what has been banned/challenged elsewhere.

2008

After a challenge and three appeals, the York County School Board chose to keep the collection of short stories in the Magruder Elementary School library in Williamsburg (VA) despite claims that is offensive to children with loved ones serving in the military and inappropriate for elementary school students. A parent wanted the book removed because one of the short stories contained references to war, bombs and soldier casualties.
