Spring 2023 University-Wide Assessment Activities

Please pay attention to due dates for participation.

There will be one grand prize of a pair of AirPod Pro, drawn from participants of any Assessment Day survey.

  • College and/or Departmental Activities and Surveys

    Purpose of Activity: Opportunity for individual departments/programs to complement ongoing direct assessment of student learning.
    Persons Eligible to Participate: All students, as each unit dictates.
    Activity Dates: Check with your academic department, college, or other university unit for specific details.
    Activity Prizes:

    • Direct payment of $50 (4 winners)
  • Campus-Wide Surveys (Advising, Registrar’s Office, Drinko Library Space, Library Research Services, Tutoring, Others may be added)

    Purpose of Activity: Opportunity for campus student service offices to gather satisfaction information from students for the purpose of improving their services.
    Persons Eligible to Participate: Open to all students through a link of the Assessment webpage. Students will receive an email with the link.
    Activity Dates: March 23-April 17
    Activity Prizes:

    • Direct payment of $50 (4 winners)
  • Graduation Surveys – Graduates of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs

    Purpose of Activity: To gather information regarding student satisfication with various aspects of their Marshall experience, include perceptions of learning at Marshall aligned to Marshall’s outcomes. Also provides information about future plans. Data analyzed on university and college level. Individual program level data can be pulled upon request and is pulled every five years for program review.
    Persons Eligible to Participate: All graduating seniors will receive an email invidtation from their discipline college’s dean to complete these.
    Activity Dates: March 8-April 17(Students will have longer than this to complete these surveys, but they will have to be completed by April 17 to be eligible for prizes).
    Activity Prizes:

    • Direct payment of $50 (10 winners, five undergraduate and five graduate)
  • Core Curriculum Survey

    Purpose of Activity: To gather information regarding student perceptions of learning in Marshall’s Core Curriculum as it aligns to Marshall’s outcomes.
    Persons Eligible to Participate: All undergraduate students will receive an email from me inviting them to complete the survey.
    Activity Dates: March 23-April 17
    Activity Prizes:

    • Direct payment of $50 (4 winners)
  • University Climate Survey

    Purpose of Activity: To gather information regarding student perception of the climate on Marshall’s campus, and use this information to inform improvements as part of Marshall’s HLC Quality Initiative.
    Persons Eligible to Participate: All students will receive an email inviting them to complete the survey.
    Activity Dates: March 23- April 17
    Activity Prizes:

    • AirPods Pro (2 winners)
    • AirPods (2 winners)
    • Marshall T-Shirt (10 winners)
