Become a Community Partner

Marshall University is committed to improving our community.

Marshall University values collaborating with community organizations to support a better understanding of local and global issues, and to apply concepts beyond the classroom. The Community-Based Learning Program strives to connect you with faculty members and students not only to build relationships that are beneficial to the community but also to students.

We work to connect you with faculty members involved in community-based learning courses. A high-quality community-based learning experience incorporates the following fundamentals:

  • A community-based partner that provides a service or presents a need relevant to course content
  • Mutually beneficial to the community and to students of Marshall University
  • Deliberate and structured reflection by students throughout the course experience
  • Assisting in development of young professionals as they move towards the workforce
