Spring 2026 Workshop
Community-Based Learning (CBL) designated courses provide excellent opportunities for faculty, students, and community partners. CBL courses can meet the needs of students who want to become more involved in the community or who want experience in interactive environments in areas related to their field(s) of study. Participating in CBL courses enables students to be more active learners, enhance their skills and knowledge, earn recognition, and increase their marketability. We are currently seeking instructors to teach CBL courses. If you are already CBL certified, we can help you design, plan, and execute your CBL project.
The Community-Based Learning Program at Marshall University is pleased to announce a new online (via Blackboard), asynchronous Community-Based Teaching Training course and certification. This certification covers all the material previously delivered over three separate workshops that were delivered in real time, either in-person or online. Now you can complete the certification at your own pace and in your own place! The workshop is required to teach a CBL course, but all are invited to complete the certification. There is no commitment to teach a CBL course upon completion.
If you intend to teach a CBL-designated course in the spring 2026 semester, you must have completed your CBL certification on or before January 30, 2026.
