Marshall School of Pharmacy receives financial gift for education tools

The Marshall University School of Pharmacy has received a $10,000 gift that will be used to purchase state-of-the-art training materials for students.

The gift was made by a donor in honor of his parents, but the individual wishes to remain anonymous.

“My parents have always supported me in my personal and professional life,” the donor said in a prepared statement. “My gift to the school of pharmacy is a tangible way to honor two of the most important people in my life while helping students achieve their goals.”

“We are very grateful for this gift, which has a direct application for our students,” said Kevin W. Yingling, R.Ph., M.D., dean of the school of pharmacy. “Founding a new school is a huge undertaking and requires the commitment of many people. Each and every gift is important to us and we are pleased those in our community are forward thinking and supportive of our endeavors.”
Christine Anderson, associate vice president for the Marshall University Foundation, says an honorary gift carries special significance.

“An honorary gift is a wonderful way for donors to recognize those who are important in their lives,” Anderson said. “And, of course, such gifts also make an impactful contribution toward our students’ education. We appreciate those who share our passion to help students.”
