Dr. Ryan Schroeder currently serves as the Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Georgia Southern University. As a new college when he assumed the role of Dean in 2019, Dr. Schroeder led the development of the college into a university leader in student success outcomes, career readiness, enrollment growth, and research productivity and impact.
Prior to his time as Dean, Dr. Schroeder was a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at the University of Louisville for 14 years, the last four of which he served as Department Chair.
Dr. Schroeder’s research expertise is in the study of crime, juvenile delinquency, and deviance and his research has been published in top-tier journals in sociology and criminology.
