On September 18, 2014, the School of Art & Design opened a beautiful 2,200-square-foot gallery on the first floor of the Visual Arts Center amid a flurry of excitement. The opening of the gallery was part of a community open house celebrating the opening of the Visual Arts Center. The inaugural exhibition, We ART Marshall, featured artwork by students, faculty, and alumni of Marshall University.
The Visual Arts Center Gallery was renamed in February of 2016 for Charles W. and Norma C. Carroll. Charles and Norma Carroll are Marshall University graduates who have given back in an extraordinary way. The Carrolls’ generous support of the School of Art & Design and Marshall University has made a difference in the lives of countless students.
Today the Charles W. and Norma C. Carroll Gallery hosts a full program of exhibitions by Marshall Students, Faculty, and professional artists from across the country and even across the world including senior Capstone exhibitions and the popular Annual National Juried Exhibition.
The Charles W. and Norma C. Carroll Gallery is located at 927 3rd Avenue inside the Visual Arts Center.
