Work Simplr

We’ve partnered with Work Simplr to increase access to work opportunities for students from the time they enter Marshall University to the time they graduate. Work Simplr is different from internships and other part-time work. Here are a few differences:

• The work is primarily short-term projects, taking 5-20 hours to complete.
• Every project is virtual- no car required!
• You can complete the work flexibly within your existing schedule.
• If you don’t want to do the work when Work Simplr reaches out to you, just say no. There is no penalty for not taking on work.
• Every project is paid! Approximately $15-20 an hour.

We encourage you to register at https://worksimplr.com/ and sign up for either the 10 minute face to face chat or complete the audio questions (you don’t need to do both) to qualify for paid, flexible, short-term work for as long as you are in school.
Work Simplr makes it easy for you:

• No job postings to check.
• No prior work experience required.
• Any year in school and any major is accepted.
• Work Simplr reaches out to you when they have work you might be interested in.

If you are looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your skills, explore career paths, and expand your network, but don’t have time for a traditional internship, these project-centered experiences are perfect for you – most can be completed remotely, typically involve 10 to 40 hours of work, and are deadline-driven as opposed to set during specific hours. Set up your profile through Parker Dewey and start applying today!

Interested students are encouraged to:

• Create an account on Marshall University’s Micro-Internship platform
• Fill out your profile as completely as possible
• Have a resume ready! Need assistance? Contact the Office of Career Education to schedule a virtual resume appointment at career@marshall.edu
• Review current Micro-Internship projects available and apply to projects of interest
• You may be asked to fill out supplemental questions. If you need assistance, upload a document with the questions and your answers to Handshake to be reviewed by a Career Coach.
• Companies will review applicants and choose their students. No interviews!
• Continue to check the platform regularly for new opportunities
