Biography
Dr. Paula Lucas serves as Chair and Professor in the UTE program, where she teaches mathematics content, methods courses for elementary education majors, and classroom management. With a passion for teaching that she hopes to instill in her students, Dr. Lucas is dedicated to fostering both confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Lucas actively supports students through mentoring, advising, and individualized guidance, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to succeed. Her professional and community outreach includes extensive collaboration with surrounding counties on state and regional Math Field Day, as well as close partnerships with the West Virginia Department of Education on statewide initiatives.
Committed to both academic excellence and community engagement, Dr. Lucas enjoys attending Marshall University athletic events, supporting MU sports, and participating in her local church community.
