Banned Books 2018 – My World History

Marshall University does not ban books! The information is provided to let people know what has been banned/challenged elsewhere.

2018

A School board in Brevard (FL) county decided to keep the textbook in 9th-grade classrooms, amid complaints that its chapter on Islam “painted Mohammad and the treatment of women in an overly favorable light.”

2017

Challenged in the Sullivan County (TN) school system because a parent said the textbook “promotes Islamic propaganda.” The parent is being represented by Freedom X, a California-based, self-described conservative Christian group with a website that states it fights Islamic indoctrination in U.S. schools. “This will not go away. I will not go away,” she told the board.
