Removed at the Standard Middle School in Bakersfield (CA) along with two other titles in the “Crank Trilogy” after a parent complained about the sex, violence, drugs, and alcohol in the book. The book follows the life of a girl named Kristina and her battle with addiction to methamphetamine. According to Simon and Schuster’s website, the book is recommended for children who are at least 14 years old.
