Banned Books 2013 – Prep

Marshall University does not ban books! The information is provided to let people know what has been banned/challenged elsewhere.

Removed from the Emmaus (PA) High School 9th grade summer reading list because the story of a girl from Indiana who goes to a boarding school in New England was “too mature for ninth-graders.” Instead it was added to the 12th grade Advanced Placement reading list.

2009

Pulled from the accelerated reading program in the Heritage Oak School in Yorba Linda (CA). A parent complained that the book was “pornographic.”
