On Sunday, November 3rd, Donald Laney will hold two master classes at Marshall University’s Performing Arts Center in Room 224. –Dancers aged 11-13 will have class from 1:30 – 3:00 pm –Dancers aged 14 and up will have class from 3:30 – 5:00 pm All dancers in these age ranges, who are interested in improving

Marshall University’s School of Music will present a concert and a master class with performer Kaitlyn Davis. Davis is a New York-based soprano who played the part of Christine Daaé in the North American tour of “Phantom of the Opera,” winning the Emerging Talent Award from the Kurt Weill Foundation’s 2016 Lotte Lenya Competition.

Marshall University Dance will perform its second annual Spring Dance Concert, “Innovate, Collaborate, Celebrate” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse. The performance is presented by the Marshall University School of Theatre and Marshall University Auditoria, and is free and open to the public.

Marshall University’s School of Theatre will open its spring season with “In the Wake,” a topical play about politics and character in America. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, Feb. 13-16 and Feb. 20-24, in the Francis-Booth Experimental Theatre at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.

Marshall University’s College of Arts and Media presents a workshop, “What Do I Do Now: Launching a Career in the Arts, Post-Graduation,” with Jordan Bean, founder and producing artistic director of Jordan Bean & Co., and partner, Patrick Taylor, both of whom are Marshall University alumni. They will offer an interactive presentation for aspiring artists

Marshall’s auditoria staff group, which includes Director of Facilities Jamez Morris-Smith, Deb Carder, Kevin Bannon and Sam Kincaid, received the John Marshall Service award (formerly Employee of the Month) Nov. 15 at the Classified Staff Council meeting.

Marshall University Theatre Dance and 4th Avenue Arts are THRILLED to bring you a Tap Masterclass series with Matt Saffron. Students will have an opportunity to learn from a world class artist here in Huntington WV.

Marshall University’s Center for Continuing Education will launch its new series, “Tuesday Talks,” with a presentation by Terry Layman, who will guest-direct the upcoming Marshall Theatre production of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It.” The talk will take place Tuesday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse on Marshall’s Huntington

The Marshall University Theatre company, THEATRE ETC!, has received an anonymous grant in the amount of $20,000. The grant will improve the level of production and affordability of the company’s performances, said the company’s founder and director, John Colclough, a professor of theatre at Marshall.
