HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WMUL-FM) — Now that spring break is in the rearview mirror, students at Marshall University are in the homestretch for summer break.

Despite the semester coming to an end, there are still some obstacles students must navigate to ensure they complete the spring semester successfully.

With more assignments, quizzes, and final exams approaching, students are forced to create a game plan.

Reagan Boggess, a biology major a Marshall, said she prefers looking over work from earlier in the semester to prepare for final exams.

“I like to look at the practice problems that my professors post and look over old exams and quizzes to see what I missed and how I can correct those mistakes,” Boggess said.

While fixing past mishaps is not always the easiest or most fun thing to do, it seems to still be valuable in a school setting.

In terms of new students avoiding mistakes that can take place when preparing for finals, Elijah Crompton, a pre-med student at Marshall, said simple things like good attendance is key to academic success.

“I would say don’t miss class because you’ll learn the hard way that isn’t a good option, even if you are in a major that doesn’t require much intensity to go to class,” Crompton said.

The last official day of class is Friday, May 2nd, with finals taking place May 5th – 9th.
