Jackson Hall Profile

Biography

Jackson Hall began playing percussion instruments at a young age, starting out with mallet percussion in an elementary school percussion ensemble when he was in the fourth grade.  Ever since then, he has been an active percussion educator, performer, and adjudicator.  He attended Marshall University where he was a member of Herd Beats for the 2019 season on the tenor line and for the 2020 season on the snare line.  In 2023, he completed his B.F.A. in Music Performance and is currently working toward an M.A. in Music History and Literature.

Jackson began his teaching career with Wahama High School in 2019 where they have had many successes in competition.  He also is the front ensemble for Dawson Bryant Indoor Percussion where they have received second and first place at the OIPA state finals in 2022 and 2023 respectively.  In addition to this, the group placed third at the WGI Regional in Richmond, VA in 2023.  In addition to Herd Beats, he also currently serves as the percussion caption head at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, WV.

Jackson currently is a Salyers Percussion Education Team member.  He also currently resides in Huntington, WV with his fiancé, Julia, and their cat, Kitty.
