Biography

Thomas Cooper is the Assistant to the Dean and Master’s of Teaching Coordinator, tasked with supporting students through their graduation and certification at that graduate level. Thomas supports our graduate faculty as well as and is responsible for preparing the next generation of teachers through both the MAT and Alternate Certification pathways offered at Marshall. His scholarly focus is on the experience of the economically disadvantaged in public education and the exploration of alternatives to punitive grading practices. Thomas received his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Marshall University and was a public educator for 7 years.
