Biography
Dr. Amanda Preece is an assistant professor of Undergraduate Teacher Education in the College of Education and Professional Development (COEPD) at Marshall University. Before this role, Dr. Preece served as the assistant director of the Student Center of Professional Education Services (SCOPES) for over 10 years. She currently teaches undergraduate courses in classroom management, children’s language arts and literature, and methods courses in elementary science and elementary mathematics. Her scholarly and professional work has focused on educator use of social media and best practices for social media usage in and out of the classroom, as well as alumni tracking through relationship building. A first-generation college graduate, she is also actively involved in university and community service, serving as secretary of the Huntington chapter of the Marshall University Alumni Association, a member of the School Improvement Council for Wayne County Schools, and a trustee and co-director of camps for the Wayne United Methodist Church.
