Biography
Missy Reed, Ed.D. is a professor in the special education program at Marshall University, where she teaches graduate-level courses focused on supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders (E/BD) and research in special education. She also supervises graduate field experiences and teaches introductory special education courses at the undergraduate level. Dr. Reed holds a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education and an M.A. in Special Education with a specialization in Behavior Disorders from Marshall University, as well as an Ed.D. in Educational Psychology and Special Education from West Virginia University.
Before joining the faculty at Marshall, Dr. Reed worked extensively in the field, including as a high school teacher for students with autism and E/BD in Cabell County, WV, and as an educational specialist for the West Virginia Autism Training Center. Her professional experience also includes roles at the WV Children’s Home Society, Mountaineer Spina Bifida Camp, and Autism Services Center.
