Dr. Cheyenne Tait and recent Marshall Biology graduate Kia Booth recently made a splash at the Animal Behavior Society’s annual conference in Baltimore! Representing the Department of Biological Sciences, Kia presented a research poster on the lab’s fascinating work with the nudibranch sea slug Berghia stephanieae—a tiny but mighty creature with some seriously cool behaviors.
The duo also took part in a science outreach fair at the Maryland Science Center, fielding big questions from curious minds, like:
How do they eat sea anemones if the sea anemones sting?
How do you study their brains if they’re so tiny?
Their answer? “Very carefully!”
It was a fun and inspiring weekend of science communication, slug facts, and showcasing Marshall’s marine biology research on a national stage!
