Seven chemistry students from the College of Science shared their research on an international stage in December 2025 at Pacifichem 2025 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The students presented poster presentations alongside Dr. Rosalynn Quiñones, representing Marshall University at one of the world’s largest chemistry conferences.

Student presenters included Levi Blankenship, Alexis Kiara Bowles, Jose Buxo, Andrew Fields, Aaron Grimmett, Kayley King, and Abigail Roberts. Through their participation, the students engaged with researchers from around the globe, discussed current advances in chemistry, and gained valuable professional experience communicating their work to an international audience.

Pacifichem is a major international chemistry conference held every five years in Honolulu and jointly organized by chemical societies from the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other Pacific Rim nations. The conference draws thousands of scientists from academia, industry, and government to share research across all areas of chemistry, from fundamental science to applied and interdisciplinary work.

In addition to presenting their research, the students experienced the rich scientific and cultural environment of Hawaii, making Pacifichem a memorable opportunity for both professional growth and global engagement.
