The Tait Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences recently returned from the annual meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, held this year in Portland, Oregon.

Undergraduate researchers Sandra Gerges and Jessi Lin represented Marshall University with poster presentations on their projects. Gerges shared her work on regeneration in nudibranch sea slugs, while Lin presented research on fruit fly olfaction. Both students also took advantage of networking opportunities and volunteered as new members of the Division of Neurobiology, Neuroethology, and Sensory Biology.

Dr. Cheyenne Tait, assistant professor of Biological Sciences, contributed to the meeting by presenting her research on fruit fly brains and chairing a scientific session focused on odor and olfaction.

The conference wrapped up just in time for the start of the spring semester, and the Tait Lab is already looking ahead to future conference experiences and research opportunities.
