Marshall University Cyber teams place in top 2 percent nationally in National Cyber League
Marshall University Cyber teams delivered an outstanding performance in the recent National Cyber League (NCL) competition, placing in the top 2 percent of 3,634 collegiate teams nationwide. The results reflect continued growth and excellence in cybersecurity education at Marshall and within the College of Science.
Marshall University ranked 65th overall nationally, with additional strong placements including 10th in national participation and 84th in individual rankings. Among designated Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) institutions, Marshall placed 48th nationally. Regionally, the teams ranked 30th overall in the eastern United States, with a participation rank of 10th and an individual ranking of 4th.
The teams also earned distinction as the highest performing program among Sun Belt Conference institutions and placed second overall in West Virginia. The results demonstrate continued success at a higher level of competition, with the number of participating teams nearly four times greater than when Marshall University won the NCL national championship in 2020.
