Science summer camps spark curiosity

Summer Day Camps are underway at Marshall University’s College of Science, offering hands-on learning experiences for students eager to explore science, technology, engineering and math. Several sessions still have limited spots available for families looking to add interactive STEM activities to their summer plans.

Camp offerings begin with Microbiology Camp, scheduled for June 8–12, where participants will explore the microscopic world and learn how tiny organisms have a major impact on everyday life. The following week, June 15–19, the Physiology and Chemistry camp will give students the chance to conduct experiments using fruit flies to better understand biological and chemical processes.

Additional sessions continue in July. The Water Explorers STEAM Day, set for July 7–10, will focus on local waterways, giving campers the opportunity to study aquatic ecosystems and the organisms that call them home. From July 20–24, Numbers Explosion will connect math and physics to real-world experiences, showing how concepts apply to everything from food to games and everyday phenomena.

These camps reflect Marshall University’s commitment to experiential learning and community outreach. Families can learn more and register online.
