Marshall University alumna Skye Reymond is helping shape the future of soccer in the United States through data science. A 2014 graduate and former Marshall women’s soccer player, Reymond now serves as senior director of data science for U.S. Soccer, where she is preparing for the 2026 men’s World Cup.

Reymond’s path began with a love of both soccer and mathematics. After transferring to Marshall, she found strong support from faculty in the College of Science and built lasting connections in the Department of Mathematics and Physics. She credits that experience with shaping her academic focus and career direction, particularly through challenging coursework in statistics and close mentorship from professors.

After graduation, Reymond discovered data science and pursued advanced training, eventually combining her analytical skills with her passion for sport. Her work now focuses on predictive modeling and decision-making, including optimizing match locations, ticketing strategies and fan engagement. Her role also examines community impact and participation trends across the sport.

Now working remotely from West Virginia, Reymond is able to build her career while raising her family in her home state. She describes her position as a “dream job,” blending purpose and passion while contributing to one of the largest sporting events in the world.
