After Move In

Cancelling Housing After Move In

If you want to move out of Marshall’s residence halls, be sure you follow these steps to avoid unnecessary bills or charges to your account:

  1. You must meet the criteria to be released from Marshall’s residency requirement. If you do not, you must complete one of the release request forms.
  2. If you are eligible to live off campus, complete a cancellation of housing form. Turn this in to the Department of Housing and Residence Life office in Holderby Hall.
  3. Remove all your belongings from your room.
  4. See your RA or another RA in the building. He or she will check you out of your room. This means you will:
    • Complete your Room Condition Report (RCR). Be sure you check it carefully before signing it.
    • Turn in your room and mailbox keys.
    • Leave your forwarding address.

Please contact our office if you have any questions at 1-800-438-5391 or 304-696-6765.
