Biography

Dr. Monica DellaMea is an Assistant Professor in the Curriculum & Instruction Department at Marshall University, where she coordinates the Graduate-Level Early Childhood Education Programs and serves on the C&I Doctoral Faculty. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in early childhood education and doctoral-level courses in curriculum and policy development, and with Doctoral Faculty Chair Status, she guides students as a chair and committee member.

Her scholarly interests include curriculum development, place-based education, education policy, pre-K through third-grade systems, early childhood education, partnerships with stakeholders, and fostering belonging in online learning. She also serves on the State Board of Directors for Read Aloud West Virginia, a nonprofit that motivates children to read for fun through volunteer readers, book bundles, and community outreach.

Dedicated to mentoring, advising, and supporting students—often beyond traditional hours—Dr. DellaMea shares her own journey of resilience to encourage perseverance and success. A servant leader, she is committed to helping students grow as confident, critical thinkers and researchers.
