Chemistry alumnus completes PhD, advances to medical training
Ethan Adkins, a College of Science alumnus and 2018 biochemistry graduate, recently defended his doctoral research at the University of Cincinnati. He will now transition into medical training, continuing an academic path that reflects the strong foundation he built at Marshall University.
Adkins conducted undergraduate research in the Chemistry Department under the mentorship of Dr. Derrick Kolling, professor of chemistry. His success highlights the impact of hands‑on research experiences in the College of Science and the achievements of Chemistry students who continue to excel well beyond their time at Marshall University.
