Criminal Justice honors students at annual awards and recognition ceremony

The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Marshall University hosted its annual Awards, Recognition, and Alpha Phi Sigma (APS) Honors Induction Ceremony last Friday. The event celebrated graduating seniors, honor society inductees, and student award recipients for their academic achievements and contributions to the program.

The department also recognized guest speaker Darrell Legg, adjunct professor, for his long‑standing service. Legg has dedicated 27 years to the program, teaching more than 80 course sections across more than 14 courses in the curriculum.

Scholarship and award recipients included Daniel Goodreau (Glenn W. Burner Memorial Scholarship), Madilyn Smith (Roger W. Simmons Scholarship and Sam Dameron Award for Leadership and Service), Kryslen Tucker (Dora L. Simmons Scholarship), Emily Doss (Jeanette Kitto Schumacher Scholarship), Matison Brown (Outstanding Undergraduate Award), Alexis Wolgemuth (Outstanding Graduate Award), and Sydney Scholl (Margaret Phipps Brown Award for Scholarship and Excellence). The department congratulates all honorees for their achievements.
