Sara Slack, a recent Master of Science graduate in Biological Sciences from Marshall University, has also been recognized for completing her Global Education experience. During her studies, Slack participated in the Tropical Biology and Conservation Field Course in Costa Rica in 2025.

The course provided hands‑on learning opportunities in a diverse ecological setting and allowed Slack to engage directly with tropical ecosystems while experiencing a new cultural environment. Experiences like these emphasize the importance of global perspectives in scientific education and highlight the value of cultural understanding in addressing complex environmental challenges.

The College of Science congratulates Slack on her accomplishments and looks forward to her continued success.
