College of Science advisor Jacob Longoria recently shared his expertise with academic advising professionals from across the country at the NACADA Annual Conference in Oklahoma.

Longoria and his colleagues delivered both an interactive workshop and a breakout session titled “Burnout, Bias, and Belonging: Neuro-Affirming Supports for Neurodivergent Advisors.” The presentations focused on strategies for creating more inclusive, supportive, and neuro-affirming environments for advisors and the students they serve.

Conference attendees engaged in discussions about reducing barriers, supporting neurodivergent professionals, and fostering a greater sense of belonging within higher education settings.

The College of Science congratulates Longoria on this professional achievement and his continued contributions to student success and inclusive advising practices.
