HSTA students dive into science at explosive demo show

Share

The sparks were flying—literally—during Marshall University’s annual Science Demo Show on July 7, where Health Science and Technology Academy (HSTA) students experienced the thrill of science in action! Hosted by Drs. Sean and Sachiko McBride from the Department of Mathematics and Physics, the event was packed with jaw-dropping experiments and interactive demonstrations.

From walking on a non-Newtonian fluid to launching glow-in-the-dark rockets, students got hands-on with science. They saw sound with fire, felt the rush of smoke rings, marveled at in-classroom thunder and lightning, and explored Bernoulli’s principle up close.

Special thanks to National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) students Claire Brown (Appalachian State University) and Alex Petula (Penn State University) for assisting with the excitement.
