Fall at Marshall University means festivals, friends, and fascinating science! Physics faculty and students joined in the celebration at two major campus events this October, bringing hands-on demonstrations and excitement to hundreds of visitors.
At the 12th annual West Virginia Makes Festival on Oct. 24, Dr. Sachiko McBride wowed the crowd with physics demos alongside students Niko Faulcon, Tyler Parsons, and Diesel Bryant from the Society of Physics Students (SPS), as well as Bennett Luo, Nevaeh Ellington, and Alec Barnett from the Science Olympiad student organization.
The fun continued the next day at the 62nd annual International Festival, where Dr. McBride and her team shared more interactive experiments with families, students, and community members. SPS member Niko Faulcon and Marshall University Astronomy Club president Devin Culwell helped make the evening a success.
From makers to stargazers, it was a festive week of physics at Marshall—and the team is already looking forward to next year’s events!
