
The College of Science is proud to recognize three outstanding students in Biological Sciences as recipients of the 2025–2026 Student Awards.
- David Boak, an MS student in the Palmquist Lab, has been awarded the Donald Cain Tarter Biological Sciences Student Research Scholarship. His research utilizes STEPWAT2, an individual-based plant simulation model, to examine climate change impacts on plant functional types across the western United States.
- Noah Adkins, an MS student working in the Puppo and Mays Labs, has been awarded the Dr. Charles J. Gould Jr. Botany Scholarship. His research focuses on sunflower-specialist bees, contributing to a deeper understanding of pollinator ecology.
- Sarah Wooten, a BS student in Biological Sciences, has been awarded the Charlie Viers ’64 Scholarship in Life Sciences. She plans to pursue cancer research following the completion of her undergraduate studies.
The College of Science congratulates David, Noah, and Sarah on their achievements and looks forward to the continued impact of their research and academic pursuits.
