
Dr. Anne Axel, Dr. Kyle Palmquist, and Dr. Pamela Puppo from the Department of Biological Sciences have published a new research article in the journal Vegetation Classification and Survey.
The paper, “Characterizing and mapping coastal vegetation on a sea island in the southeastern USA,” presents advanced ecological mapping and vegetation classification focused on Parris Island, South Carolina. The study represents an important step forward in long term ecological monitoring and the conservation of coastal plant communities.
The research was led by former master’s student Cody Goodson and co-authored by current master’s student Zak Bartholomew, along with Drs. Axel, Palmquist, and Puppo. The publication highlights the College of Science’s strong commitment to student-led research and collaborative scholarship.
