NRES celebrates patent‑generated royalties supporting future student research
The Department of Natural Resources and Earth Sciences in the College of Science has received royalty funding generated from a patented DNA‑based process developed by former students working with Dr. Liz Murray. The work was created through student research conducted in collaboration with faculty and supported by grant funding.
The royalties reflect the long‑term impact of student‑faculty research and innovation at Marshall University. The department plans to use the funds to help establish an endowment, creating a lasting resource to support future students, research, and educational opportunities.
