College of Science departments receive first‑ever royalty distribution

The Marshall University College of Science is celebrating a milestone achievement as the Chemistry Department and the Department of Natural Resources and Earth Sciences received the university’s first‑ever royalty check distribution. The distribution marks an important step in translating research and innovation into sustained support for academic programs.

Special recognition is given to department chairs Dr. Laura McCunn (Chemistry) and Dr. Mindy Armstead (Natural Resources and Earth Sciences) for their leadership in reaching this achievement. The royalties were distributed by the Marshall University Research Corporation and reflect the impact of faculty scholarship, student research, and externally supported innovation within the College of Science.
