College of Science faculty complete summer institute focused on STEM success
Faculty in Marshall University’s College of Science recently completed the Mobile Summer Institute (MoSI) as part of the MU FOCUS (Faculty Opportunities for Collaboration, Understanding, and Support) initiative, developing new classroom resources centered on scientific communication, AI literacy, study strategies, and collaborative problem-solving.
Supported by a National Science Foundation Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) grant, the initiative promotes evidence-based teaching practices designed to strengthen student success and instructional innovation. The project will continue this fall through faculty mini-grants and a Community of Learning and Practice.
The multidisciplinary team is led by Dr. Shannon Miller-Mace of the Department of Mathematics and Physics and includes Holly Cyphert, Rick Gage, Dr. Sachiko McBride, and Dr. Laura McCunn. The College of Science congratulates the team on its continued efforts to enhance STEM education at Marshall University.
